Submission Guidelines
Before You Submit
Please confirm each of the following before sending your manuscript.
- The manuscript falls within the Aims and Scope of the journal.
- The manuscript has not been published previously and is not under review at another journal.
- All authors meet the authorship criteria set out in the Authorship and Contributorship policy, and all authors have approved the submitted version.
- The manuscript is formatted according to the Manuscript Preparation guidelines.
- All required declarations are included, namely ethics approval, informed consent, funding, conflicts of interest, data availability, use of generative artificial intelligence, and author contributions.
- Permission has been obtained for any third party material reproduced in the manuscript.
How to Submit
All manuscripts are submitted through the online submission system of the journal. Submissions sent by email cannot be processed.
- Create an account. Register on the submission system with your name, affiliation, email address, and ORCID identifier. If you already have an account, sign in with your existing credentials.
- Start a new submission. Select the article type and the submission track, either Full Paper or Emerging Scholarship. The system will guide you through each step.
- Enter the submission information. Provide the title, abstract, keywords, and the details of every author, including affiliation, email address, and ORCID identifier. Identify the corresponding author.
- Complete the declarations. Answer the required questions on ethics approval, informed consent, funding, conflicts of interest, data availability, use of generative artificial intelligence, and author contributions.
- Upload your files. Upload each file in the category described below.
- Review and confirm. Check the preview generated by the system, then confirm the submission. You will receive an automatic acknowledgement with a manuscript identification number.
The corresponding author can track the status of the manuscript, respond to editorial requests, and upload revised versions at any time by signing in to the submission system. All correspondence about a manuscript takes place through the system, so please make sure that notifications from the journal are not filtered by your email provider.
If you experience a technical problem with the submission system, contact the editorial office at office@cblcjournal.org. Please do not attach your manuscript to that message.
Files to Upload
- Cover letter. State the article type and track, confirm that the manuscript is original and not under review elsewhere, summarize the contribution in a short paragraph, and identify any previously published conference version as described below.
- Title page file. Include the title, all author names, affiliations, ORCID identifiers, the corresponding author with email address, all declarations, and acknowledgements. This file is not sent to reviewers.
- Anonymized manuscript file. The manuscript must not contain author names, affiliations, acknowledgements, or any other information that would identify the authors. Refer to your own prior work in the third person. Before uploading, remove identifying information from the file properties of the document.
- Figures and tables. Upload separate files where the system requires them, and name each file so that it corresponds to the caption in the manuscript.
- Supplementary files. Include any instruments, code, or appendices that support the study.
Prior Publication and Conference Papers
Articles submitted to CBLC may not have been previously published, and may not be under review at another journal. However, an article may contain content that appeared in conference proceedings, provided that at least 30 percent of the empirical results in the article are new and previously unpublished. In this case the cover letter must identify the original article or articles and state clearly which content is new.
Posting a preprint to a repository or a personal website does not count as prior publication.
Screening and Withdrawal
Any article found to contain plagiarism, to involve duplicate publication of results except as permitted above, or to involve fabricated or intentionally misanalyzed data may be withdrawn from the journal at the discretion of the editors. Where an article has already been published, the journal follows the procedure set out in the Corrections, Retractions and Withdrawals policy.
Copyright
Unlike many other journals, under the copyright policy of CBLC the author retains full ownership of the manuscript.
Cost
There are no submission fees, no article processing charges, and no other costs of any kind for publication in CBLC.
Publication Charges
CBLC does not charge authors at any stage of the publication process.
| Charge type | Amount |

| Submission fee | None |

Because there are no charges, no waiver or discount scheme is required. The journal does not offer paid options of any kind for faster review or for higher visibility, and payment plays no part in any editorial decision. Readers pay nothing to access any part of the journal.
